Each year, Alpine Accommodations Mt Washington receives hundreds of requests from worthy groups.  We commend the valuable role achieved by each of these organizations. However, since we are not able to offer support to all groups seeking donations, we must focus our support on those that best fit our strategy.  Contributions are directed to federally registered charitable organizations and registered non-profit societies.  We prefer to support organizations in locations where we have a significant client, employee or business presence. The Strathcona Regional District in which we operate, Vancouver Island & British Columbia are our main contribution target areas.

Our contribution strategy focuses on community needs in locations that have been identified by our business as current priority areas. We have established guidelines to effectively administer the allocation of our contribution budget. Please note that our contributions program focuses on registered charitable organizations and registered non-profit societies. We prefer to fund programs, activities, events and services that benefit needy children, animals or education.

Please note the following are ineligible:

• Organizations that are not Canadian registered charities or equivalent through the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency

• Activities taking place outside of Canada

• Political parties or candidates

• Individual applicants or individual pursuits

• Private, preschool, elementary or secondary school operating expenses (although assistance may be provided to charitable groups working to enhance school programs)

• Commercial solicitors or third parties raising funds for a charity

• Advocacy or lobbying groups

• Organizations that have political or denominational affiliations

• Religious organizations or organizations focusing on a particular religion

• Feasibility studies

• Conferences, conventions, seminars, workshops

• Endowments or matching grants

• On-going operating budgets

• Private clubs funded through membership fees

• Goodwill and other advertising

• Film, video, television and book productions

• Scholarship programs

• Debt-reduction campaigns

• Local, regional or provincial campaigns or agencies of, or affiliated with a national organization already supported by our contributions

• Requests received via form letter, mass mailing, telemarketing or phone solicitation

• Organizations focusing on advocacy work other than animals (religious, social, political or economic)

• Organizations that discriminate against race, gender, religion or lifestyle

• Professional fundraisers

• Private foundations or clubs

• Competitions

• Individual private, pre-school, elementary and secondary educational institutions

We will not knowingly contribute more than once to the same organization in the same year.
